Gentle Word

"A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare" PROVERBS 15:1

When in argument, why be harsh about another's harsh word? What better are you? Replying to someone in a gentle manner provides for a display of calmness and maturity in the situation. Showing this example to the other person, will cause them to become calm and both will be able to make wiser choices.

Solid Foundations

"Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the flood waters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it was built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the wind beats against that house, it will collapse with a might crash." MATTHEW 7:24

If you follow God's word and accept his advice you will provide a solid foundation for yourself and your life will be guided and strengthened through life. Also, making choices with the advice of the Lord makes you stronger and decide on wiser things. When these good choices are made, you will be able to withstand the pressures and dangers of life because of the word and guidance of the Lord.

God's Wisdom is Greater

"Do not be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones." - PROVERBS 3:7-8

God's wisdom is always more wise than any other man's. It is so great that you must fear Him instead of evil to realize his wisdom and authority. Fear the Lord for he has real fear and real consequences while evil has fake fear fear that scares and doesn't limit. But when you follow God's path from his wisdom, He will give you strength and lead you and guide you through your life.

The Three Servants

"Again, the kingdom of heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last; dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.
The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. But, the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master's money.
After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. The servant whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said,' Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.'
The master was full of praise.'Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let us celebrate together!'
The servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said,'Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two more.'
The master said,'Well done, my good and faithful servant. You  have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let us celebrate together!'
Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said,'Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn't cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the Earth. Look, here is your money back.'
But the master replied,'You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn't cultivate, why didn't you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.'
Then he ordered,'Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given , even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." - MATTHEW 14-28

Of what the Lord provides for you, do what you can with it to invest in others. Do not wish for what you do not have, but rather wish for what you can do with what you have and greater awards will follow but if you do not do anything with what you are given, what little or even a lot that you have will be taken away. Therefore, the servant who did nothing with his money was like a man who God gave potential to start but they hid and were selfish with it and did not trust the Lord to make it grow and prosper. So, of what the Lord gives you no matter of what quantity, trust in the Lord that he'll make it grow and he'll award you if you invest in others and find potential in people and/or ideas and purpose.

Reflection of the Heart

"As a face reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person."
                                                         - Proverbs 27:19

This phrase shows how what you do and what you give shows your real self. Your heart and sympathy for others is an important thing to have as a trait for these things can only be done through actions. The true person is not given away through beauty or physical appearance but the generosity and displayed love for one another.

Wheat and Weeds

"Here is another story Jesus told: 'The kingdom of heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. But that night as the workers slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away. When the crop began to grow and produce grain, the weeds also grew.
The farmer's workers went to him and said, 'Sir, the field where you planted the good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from?'
'An enemy has done this!' the farmer exclaimed.
'Should we pull out the weeds?' they asked.
'No.' He replied, 'You'll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell you the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn." MATTHEW 13:24 - 30

This story represents the transition from earth to heaven where there is a mix of good and bad in this world. Where the farmer is God, who plants the good seed, and the "enemy" is Satan who plants the weeds. But if the weeds are pulled, it'll provide no contrast between good and bad and the good will have no mission. Also it would corrupt the good. But at the end of the season, or rather a lifetime, the good and the bad, or the wheat and the weeds are separated and the weeds are burned (Hell) and the wheat is stored and kept in the barn or rather, in heaven.

A Common Start to a Christian's Life

"God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - JOHN 3:16  (KJV)

Although a common phrase, this is a start to a christian's life in a rather a simplified version of Jesus's overall purpose in his assignment to save the world. The phrase speaks the ONLY way to reach God's kingdom. Therefore, this sentence should always bring up hopes and extend thought to what happens to you after death. Think about the meaning of this phrase and fell glad that you found God and discovered the eternal life with Jesus.
